Creative Communities Grant

Invited by Cork LGBT Archive, Darren will lead participatory co-design workshops with Cork LGBTQ+ community members, they will be invited to contribute to the design of the first permanent LGBTQ+ Exhibition in Ireland, in Cork Public Museum. The workshops will examine Cork’s queer history through collage and “Golden Barbie” making workshops, allowing to communities members to creatively engage in history and also become part of the exhibition. These workshops will ensure that the exhibition is collectively shaped by the community whose history it represents, reinforcing the project’s core aim to “tell our own story” and “enrich our sense of place.” Funded by Cork City Council’s Creative Communities Grant, in partnership with Creative Ireland.
